Vienna trip

Vienna trip

A Vienna trip is quite the proposition indeed, not only is it one of the most popular cities in the world to visit, but it is also a large one to boot, the largest in Austria actually, with a population of about 1.7 million.

Vienna is the capital of the country, and as such it acts as the cultural, economic and political centre, and has been doing so for many hundreds of years, having been the home of the Habsburg court.

Vienna is many things to many people, still featuring many of the trappings of its imperial history, the capital has many things to offer its visitors, and one can visit the place on several occasions and focus on one part of its allure.

For instance, traditional Vienna is what tends to spring to mind when people think of the city. This means the historic centre – which is a UNESCO world heritage site – considered by some to be an open-air museum.

However, an important city and capital of a major European country cannot survive solely on its historic laurels, a city which does not evolve with the times will not survive, so Vienna is at the same time a very young and dynamic city as well. Well-known for its music scene, cult record stores, independent labels and just generally into performing arts.

There are just so many things to talk about when it comes to this city, whether it’s the MuseumsQuartier or the variety of features that each of its 23 districts has to offer, Vienna is a great destination for pretty much any type of traveler out there.

Did we mention that there’s also a carnival season in Vienna? There sure is one, during which there are many balls that are thrown around the city. If you’re visiting during Ball Season you’ll surely not want to miss attending at least one.

There are also outdoor markets, duty-free shopping, alongside high-end brand shops in this great European capital, and this is just scratching the surface.
