South Korea, a story of success and popularity
Every day, we hear fairytale stories about people that attain happiness, love, success; but have you ever stopped to think that there are also countries that follow the same pattern, having their destinies follow a path of amazing twists and turns and turning into something beautiful? Well, with this lecture in mind, we would like to take a moment today to discuss South Korea, a story of success and popularity.
After a turbulent past, being disputed by the Chinese and the Japanese, Korea forged its identity only to find itself in the 20th century caught up in a new bloody war that would divide it between North and South. Nevertheless, South Korea – with a bit of help – managed to triumph and become one of the major economic powers of Asia and one of the most popular cultures in the world today.
This was all part of a nationally planned project of “nation branding”, but we had better not lose ourselves in that discussion. Instead, let’s talk about what touristic South Korea has to offer, tourism being one of the major industries that have helped the country earn its prominence today!
The first place never to miss in South Korea is Seoul, the capital city and busiest city, a culturally diverse city, where skyscrapers sit beside old Buddhist temples which in turn are lined up next to Christian churches. You can lose yourself in the large shopping centers and teashops and visit the amazing UNESCO Site Changdeokgung Palace.
The second stop must be Inchon, an extravagantly developed city, center of fashion and entertainment and possibly one of the best places to sample the authentic Korean lifestyle.
Throughout your trip, you can benefit from a South Korea rental car to travel freely over long distances and enjoy the freedom afforded and the trip.
