Must-see landscapes of the natural world (part 1)

Pictures are great, they’re worth a thousand words, but even the most stunning of pictures can’t hold a candle to how wonderful the photographed places actually are. And we’re going to look at some of these places to consider for your next trip, especially for those who love our planet’s natural beauty, so here are some of the must-see landscapes of the natural world.

Namib Naukluft National Park – Namibianamib-naukluft-namibia

This is the place to see for those who love the desert landscape, the steaming sands of the Namib Naukluft National Park being one of the most perfect stretch of desolate desert, even the photographs of windswept ridges will make your throat dry. This park is thought to be home of the oldest dunes in the world, the dunes at Sossusvlei, and these are the preserve’s major draw.

The very powerful winds in the region have been carving out hills as high as 300 metres out of the soft rocky landscape. There are also strong thermal winds here which make hot-air ballooning a popular way of discovering the preserve from an eagle’s eye view. Once up here you’ll see the undulating terrain creating a weird sort of illusion, giving off the impression that you’re actually looking at the static waves of an orange ocean.

In order to see as much of the place as possible use the car hire services available locally and pick a 4X4, otherwise you won’t see some places.

You can also camp throughout the park in the designated spot.

Banff National Park – Canada

Canada is big, it’s really big, and for vast areas it is rather harsh and devoid of human habitation and a great destination for rugged nature-lovers. This is where the Banff National Park comes into play, one extremely large and varied place to enjoy the wonderful landscape of the north American continent. the park spans 6641 square kilometers and it is a natural wildlife corridor which seems to stop into the somewhat impenetrable Rocky Mountains.
