The fireworks were first brought to Malta in 1530 by the Knights of St. John, and they have since become an essential element of Maltese culture.
It has become an annual event on the calendar, drawing large crowds to see the displays as domestic and international fireworks manufacturers compete in a technical and colorful competition to showcase their abilities.

Original pieces by Maltese jazz pioneers, arranged for quintet by Dominic Galea, will be heard during the performance. Excerpts from the upcoming documentary, Strait Street to Abbey Road, are used to tell the stories. This feature film, directed by Cedric Vella, is an adaptation of Ġużè Camilleri’s biography of Tony Carr. - Public Rock Climbing – Mosta Valley- 20th April
