Mexico City trip

Mexico City trip

Just like any other great metropolis, a Mexico City trip offers up an astounding mosaic of scenes, ranging from the colonial or classic to the ultra modern of steel and glass.

There are lots of things to see and do in Mexico City, so many that you won’t have enough time in only one vacation to see as many as you’d like so you need to do some research first to know which ones would be your main focus for this trip, and we’re here to give you a bit of a hand.

Mexico City attractions

El Tenampa

A visit is more or less compulsory to this festive cantina situated on the north side of the Plaza Garibaldi. Not only will you enjoy the murals of the giants of Mexican song but you’ll also get to listen to some live tunes.

Palacio de Bellas Artes

This splendid white-marble palace dominates the east end of the Alameda and stands there as an example of neoclassical and art nouveau styles. The building was underway when the Mexican Revolution intervened so it had to be finished later, that’s why the interior features the more modern art deco style.

Every floor of this grand construction reserves a special and particular type of experience so make sure you take a lot of time to visit it.

Palacio Nacional

Now this building is home to the offices of the president, the Federal Tresury as well as the dramatic murals of Diego Rivera, the palace filling the entire east side of the Zocalo.

The murals depict Mexican civilization from the arrival of Quetzalcoatl – the Azted serpent god – to the postrevolutionary period.

Plaza Garibaldi

This is where the city’s mariachi bands congregate every evening to belt out their balads but alongside them you can also see white-clad son jarocho groups and norteno combos, both of which sing northern-style folk tunes.

There are many other places and things to see on your Mexico City trip so you should also consider employing our Mexico City car hire services.
