Hampton Court, a historical destination

Hampton Court, a historical destination

Dear friends, my last trip to England has stemmed my inspiration to tell you more about more secluded and relaxing tourist attractions in the wide world. Sometimes you want to tick off your list some of the most attractive and exciting places in the world, but sometimes you want something else along with a bit of peace and quiet and here is where our suggestion comes in: Hampton Court, a historical destination.

Located just a short drive away from the hustle and bustle of London, Hampton Court is the legendary favorite residence of the (in)famous English King Henry VIII. He loved the secluded area, the hunting grounds and especially the extensive kitchens and cellars.

Today, Hampton Court is one of the top museums in the country. Many people who choose the more secluded Hamptons as a tourist destination will go visit Henry and Elizabeth’s Hampton Court.

You can do a bit of shopping for souvenirs and local products in the vicinity. And of course, just within a few miles of Hampton Court, you can visit other exciting and “hidden” tourist attractions like the Wimbledon Lawn Tennis Museum (if you love green fields and watching tennis on a sunny day and are genuinely interested to learn more about the story behind the famous tournament), the savage and beautiful Syon Park, the equally historical home of the Duke of Northumberland and Garrick’s Temple to Shakespeare, the beautiful 18th century garden folly (found in the green Richmond upon Thames, Hampton).

What to say more? England is not one of the most sought-after tourist destinations in the world for no reason: it has a rich history, industrial strength and some of the most spectacular hidden tourist attractions. So give yourself some respite and visit the UK Hamptons! If you need a ride, rent a car in London as well!
