Let’s take another look at some of the most common tech disasters that can annoy and inconvenience your trip, and how to avoid them.

You have lost or broken some of your equipment

Whether we’re talking about a primary gadget, a peripherial, a data cable or a charger, losing or having them fail on is you while traveling is never fun. Such a problem can happen at any time while on the road, so the best advice is just to be attentive with your belongings.

Another idea might be to purchase travel insurance that covers your electronics but just as it is with any other contract, make sure to read the policy carefully to understand what is covered and what’s not. When packing for a trip you should try to group all of your electornics together and photograph them in case you need to prove that you had in case you need to make a police report.

You need to print your boarding pass but the power’s out at your hotel

This used to be much more of a problem before smartphones, nowadays many airlines will allow you to show a boarding pass that you’ve downloaded to your smartphone. You might want to consider this option as a back-up in case you can’t get access to a printer.

The majority of airlines can easily find your booking by typing your name into their system but it’s still a good idea to have the booking number of your ticket. Also there are some carriers out there that still require a print-out of your booking pass and they will ask for a lot of money to print it for you. Make sure you take a good look at rules of the company that you’re flying with before booking your flight.
