Cluj trip
Going on a Cluj trip will mean that you’ll be visiting one of the most tourist minded and attractive cities in the country. The city has been around for a long time and as such it features several historic monuments as well as a very rich and vibrant cultural life.
The city has been mentioned in documents starting with the Roman conquest of Dacia, but the area has been inhabited for longer than that. The great thing about this very early mention is that the place has seen a lot of history and as such it will totally be worth a visit.
One attraction that you shouldn’t miss is the Banffy Palace, built between 1744-1785, it features a mix of late Baroque and Rococo styles, with richly ornamented facades. The outside is interesting to see and the interiors are awash in aristocratic luxury. The interior houses the National Gallery which features over three hundred, carefully picked pieces to exhibit.
Saint Michael Church dates back to sometime between 1350-1487, well actually it was built in that interval, each major feature having been made in a different century pretty much, the tower was done in 1860 actually, while the murals were made during the 15th century.
Cluj is one of the Romanian cities with the largest Hebrew community and has about five temples and ten houses of prayer, and due to this presence, the city has a memorial Temple dedicated to the Jewish Community – the building has seen a lot of turbulent history and is now the only working synagogue in Cluj.
These are just a few of the things that you can see and do while in Cluj, make no mistake about it, with the help of our Cluj car hire services you will be able to see much more of the city and its surroundings.
