Pick And Choose Among the Best Beaches on Phuket

As the largest and most spectacular island of Thailand, Phuket has been attracting tourists from all over the world for decades. Its luscious vegetation combined with the astounding emerald sea and the abundance of beautiful sandy beaches proved to be a magnet for millions.

There are numerous options for people from all walks of life to have an unforgettable vacation on Phuket. Whether you prefer the clamor of the most popular beach resorts, or a simple guesthouse, or you’ve decided to splash some money on the privacy of a luxury private villa rental and get the opportunity to enjoy your stay like a millionaire, you’ll leave hoping to come back next year.

International airlines like British Airways, Thai Airways, Air Asia, Air China and many others have regular flights to Phuket, and you can always find great deals.

But once you get there you will probably want to make the most of it and visit some of the popular beaches on the island.

If you’re looking for a place to party you will find everything you’re seeking for (or maybe even more) on Patong Beach. This 3 km long strip of white sand is full of restaurants and bars close to the sea, and the activities it offers are scuba diving, surfing, bungee jumping and many more. And if you are not a thrill seeker, you can enjoy the breathtaking sea view under the umbrella sipping fresh coconut juice or cocktail.

Kata Beach and Kata Noi Beach are two of the most beautiful beaches on Phuket. Both are dream places for a family day under the sun with the soft sand and crystal clear sea water, and are less crowded than Patong. Directly opposite the beach is Club Med, which makes this resort ideal for families with kids. Nearby you will find a number of affordable eateries and drink shops. If you feel more adventurous you can try jet skiing, parasailing, scuba diving, snorkeling, fishing, or maybe indulge in a Thai massage.

Karon Beach is the other top tourist choice, and unlike Patong there is not much development right on the beach. Nearby are situated some big resorts like the Hilton and Thavorn Beach, but there are also a lot of small hotels and guesthouses. It can really accommodate everyone – from luxury seekers to backpackers. You have to be aware though that in low season the waves there can be quite big, so it will be probably safer to use a hotel swimming pool.

Surin Beach attracts tourists with its vivid green palms fringing a beautiful bay with jade colored water. The atmosphere is very tranquil and relaxed, and you can enjoy your meal at one of the seafood restaurants close by.

And those of you that prefer a really quiet day beside the sea there are a lot of peaceful beaches. Like Paradise Beach, just 4 km south of Patong. The land is privately owned, and everything is kept simple – some beach chairs, shaded areas to sit and eat, a small restaurant, but it has an idyllic feeling that “back to nature” type of tourists will love. Another quiet place with not much traffic and away from the tourist clamor is Kamala Beach. Not many bars since it’s a Muslim area but still a perfect place, if you want some peace and privacy.

If you want to spend the day on even more pristine beach you should try Ya Nui beach, and you may even find that you are all alone there.

Even if it not well known Layan Beach is one of the quietest and most beautiful beaches on Phuket. You can revel in the breathtaking view, and feel like you’ve found paradise.

You see that whatever your preferences are you can certainly find what you are looking for in Phuket.
