How to travel from Xi’an airport to Terracotta Warriors and Horses

You have the following ways to travel:

1. By bus

There is no direct bus to the Terracotta Warriors and Horses from Xi’an airport. It needs to shift in Xi’an train station.

Take airport bus to the train station, and then take bus 306 to terracotta warriors. The former takes RMB 25, and the later one takes RMB 7.

The shuttle bus Line 2 runs from Xi’an airport to Ziction Liberal Hotel, which is near the train station. It operates hourly and the ticket fee is RMB 25. The whole tour takes about one hour. When getting off the shuttle bus, one can see the train station at the opposition, and the stop of bus 306 is in the east side of the train station.

Bus 306 is a bus of Xi’an public transportation company. It is for visitors to go to the major attractions, including Mount Lishan, Huaqing Hot Spring and Terracotta Warriors and Horses. The bus runs from 7:00 to 19:00 for the bus from the train station to the army, while the bus from the army to the train station is 8:00 to 19:00. The bus only stops at assigned stops with bus signboard. The whole tour is about one and a half hours.

Tips:
Take care of your luggage. It is better to leave the luggage in storage at the train station or the airport.
Avoid fake 306.
Terracotta Warriors and Horses is the last stop of the bus 306. Do not get off earlier.

2. By taxi

It is not recommended to take taxi to visit Terracotta Warriors and Horses. It takes 70 minutes to the scenic spot and the price is about RMB 200. The taxi starts at RMB 6 for the first two kilometers and adds RMB 1.5 for additional kilometer.

Tips:
Choose the one with the sign of a taxi. Do not take the one without the sign, which charges more and sometimes takes you to shop, although the one with the sign occasionally take you to the shop. It should be told before the tour that shopping is not wanted.

Taxi drivers do not speak English, so it is better to write the Chinese name of the destination on a paper.

It is a common phenomenon in Xi’an for taxi sharing without money cutting. This is allowed by local government.

If coming across a problem, remember the license number of the driver and the taxi number, and then turn to the Taxi Management Bureau of Xi’an city for help.

It is no need to ask the taxi driver to wait in the scenic spot. There are so many taxis outside the attraction.

3. By private car

It is a good choice to find a travel agency beforehand. They will pick you up at the airport and then take you to the destination directly. The price and service are negotiated before the tour and you can choose the service items.

To sum up, the first one and the third one are recommended. The first one is the cheapest and the third one is the most comfortable.
